What is an arrester bed?
1 - The mat police lay across the road to end a car chase?
2 - The bed where you lay down in the back of a police van, after being arrested?
3 - An Italian Power Nap station where you can hire a bed for a short nap?
4 - A large sand and dirt pit to stop runaway trucks or cars, whose brakes failed?

Why stopped in dangerous spot?
A driver is sitting at the wheel of his vehicle and has stopped his car around a blind corner. He is not parked at the side, involved in a crash, broken down, has not run out of petrol, is not turning right or left, nor reversing out of a driveway etc. Why did this vehicle just stop in the middle of the road?

Why overtake on the left?
On an unlaned road I am passing a vehicle on the left. The vehicle is not indicating to turn right, broken down, being towed or on the back of a trailer. I will still overtake this vehicle on the left - why?

Which statement is untrue?
The following lecture on the two second safety margin includes one statement that is not a fact:
To check, if you are following traffic at a safe minimum distance we use the "two-second safety gap". It is simple to use and works at any speed:
Watch the vehicle ahead pass a certain fixed point (a sign, a tree, a shadow on the road or a white line etc). Slowly count to two (thousand and one, thousand and two). If you pass the fixed point before finishing your count, you are traveling too closely. Allow a further second or two in slippery conditions, in bad visibility or when following a learner driver.
Can you spot the error?

Why apply the handbrake when moving?
Except in an emergency you should not apply the handbrake while the vehicle is still moving. There is one other time when you can apply the handbrake while the vehicle is moving. When?

Why not stop on amber?
My learner and I are passing straight ahead at an amber light. We are going slow enough to stop before the amber light. There is no traffic behind us. The road is dry.
But we are legally proceeding past the amber light. Why?
