Motor
vehicle crashes often occur when two drivers make mistakes
at the same time, same place. It happened in the following
incident, when a
large semi-trailer turned unexpectedly. A motorist right beside it
did not
anticipate the move.
This
large Semi-trailer needed to commence the left turn
from the right-hand lane.
The
truck driver did not notice an overtaking motor car in the
left lane. The inattentive motorist in the sedan ignored the
truck's left indicator. Both
drivers
share responsibility for the mishap.
DO
NOT OVERTAKE
TURNING
VEHICLE
When
turning a long vehicle may encroach into your lane. Overtake only
after the turn.
Red/yellow striping, as displayed on the rear
of this semi-trailer, means: Do not overtake turning
vehicle!
