Seconds to
disaster:
The
small hatchback in the right lane is waiting at the red
traffic light. The van beside is obstructing the
driver's view to the left completely.
Running late for an appointment,
he couldn’t
afford to lose any more time.
The instant the light changed to green the motorist in a
hurry stepped hard on the accelerator. His small
hatchback plunged blindly into
the intersection.
A
huge truck, the driver also running late, was speeding
toward the intersection from the left.
The
van driver in the left lane did not move off so quickly.
This driver could see what
was approaching, a big truck at great
speed.
A
mere two seconds later and the
truck would have cleared the intersection, without
witnessing this horrible tragedy.
Trucks take
a long distance to stop, especially fully laden!
